Brake Fluids

Before our first track event at Nelson Ledges Road Course, I decided it would be wise to at least upgrade my brake fluid to resist boiling. I didn't have much time, and so I went for the easy solution, Ford Motorcraft High-Performance brake fluid. Matt has this in his brakes now, and while it's not the bargain it once was (used to come in a big bottle and cost 7 bucks), it's still readily available at most Ford Dealerships. The one I went to screwed up and charged me the big-bottle price, but were happy to remedy the situation (should cost you about $3.50 for a 12 oz. bottle). It's a golden color, and so matches the stock fluid, unlike ATE Super-Blue. At the track, the brakes were a bit faded by the end of the day, but still stopped the car when it needed to be...I've gotta re-bleed the brake system to get it back up to par, either I still had some stock fluid in there, or the Ford fluid boiled a bit...hard to compare to others since it's my first change. I imagine my stock fluid would have been fried. Gonna try Super-Blue for next season, we'll see how it compares.

The Super Blue now fills the brake lines, in time for VIR in Febuary...impressions then, but i'm sure it will rock (probably a little more than the ford)
