Mike sent a rubber gromet, the metal plug, a bolt, and a beefy washer, along with some wonderful instructions :)
Part numbers for those of you who want to do what we did. The wiper already has a gromet, so really all you need is a bolt, the plug, and a thicker washer if you don't want to reuse the one on the wiper assembly.
Get two Type Rs in a dark, hot garage, and a sweaty shirtless freak to do the grunt work :P
Pop off the little black cover that hides the wiper arm bolt.
give the inner plastic lining of the hatch a mighty tug.
White Type Rs are much easier to photograph in a dark garage. This is your naked hatch.
Here's the wiper motor...
...and from the side.
Take off the wiper arm.
Undo the bolts that hold in the wiper motor.
Undo the quick connect that plugs into the motor, and tape the wire down somewhere so it doesn't rattle.
This is the gromet that's already in place, no need to replace it unless it's fux0red.
put the plug in, and secure it with the bolt.
My car is filthy, but it's got a much cleaner look!
Easily worth 5 horsepower. Actually, it does free up a pretty cool switch and a motor....oil-slick anyone?
Take this to your parent's house, because they love storing your random car parts.
