Matt was too busy packing and tying up loose ends to make the trip to Akron this weekend, so John Wagner (Red Street Touring GS-R) and I decided to go hardcore and spend the night in Akron for the two-day event. The first day was a fast course, one that time-wise was a fairly short 30 second run, but speed-wise was one of the quickest I've ever done (2nd gear VTEC most of the way, 40-60 MPH). CSP was a pretty competitive class, but I was pleased with my driving and won the class by half a second with an on-the-edge and very quick run. John faced even tougher competition in ST, and was tantilizingly close to a first place (less than 1/10th of a second). Jodie in her black Tiburon joined us on the way up, and brougth home the bacon in ladies class. But really, everone was a winner since this event was a funday to raise money for charity, and it was a huge success with more than 100 drivers. It was hotter than the hinges of hades, though, and there's absolutely no shade to be had anywhere...I was crankin the AC before runs just to stay alive. At the Econo-Lodge that night, John and I enjoyed some Taco Bell and James Bond: A View to a Kill. The wake-up call rang at 8AM the next morning; as Chris Walken would say, "Right on Schedule".

The way out of Pittsburgh was marked by some insanely heavy fog...which vanished the instant we crossed the border. Aah, Pittsburgh.

So cute!

That cone under the chassis is an aftermarket bolt-on.

It's kinda funny how much the Celica GT-S sounds like a honda VTEC

almost a grandsport

lovely!

this was the trickiest corner, a high speed drop where you had to trust your tires to regain traction as the road sloped up again.

Work that noodle, jodie.

Shark!

The finish was the other tricky part, alot of people were killing cones at the chicane through the gate.

john is in the zone, or something.

John works the noodle, but not as well as Jodie.
