The first event of the season was proof that weathermen don't know what they're talking about. Every major news source in the area called for steady rain, starting at 8AM. It was sunny till noon, and didn't rain a drop 'till around 6PM, well after the tire dust had settled. Pretty nice day actually! Ours were the only two Type Rs that raced, although there were more VTEC cars there than ever, including a couple S2000s, a few Preludes, a mess of Civic Si and the usual pack of CRXs. Matt had some fierce competition in CSP, and managed a second against Andy Waldman's sweet CRX. In my first outing in the Type R, I managed a win in a pretty packed G-Stock...once I re-adjusted to the squeal of street tires. I was delighted with the handling and power of the R on track, I'll stay in G-Stock until i get bored and put an intake on the car...then I'll end up dueling Matt and the CRX slot-cars. Check out results at This Location.

The ITR in it's natural environment.

Can you guess what number Matt's car is?

After liberal use of the rev-limiter, Matt lets the engine cool off a bit.

Check those out! The Type Rs are Sweet!

Andrew's beautiful CRX...after his 10th Re-Run, people started wondering how much he'd paid the timers...

Wanna buy a Honda? We got yer pick.

Porsche making the rest of the field look a little young.

We got Hondas comin outta our ears!

You can't even imagine the goodies hidden under the intercoolerss of this RUF 911 Turbo.

Yeah, it must be pretty Rough having a car with the horsepower of 3 Type Rs.

It's hard to beat a classic.

And we have to make do with a measly 8400 RPM redline...

Who needs an ugly WRX when you can pack a turbo into the 2.5RS?

The blow-off on this thing was heavenly...Subaru Technia Internationale!

He had a dramatic expensive-looking underhood event...but thankfully, it was only a loose radiator cap.

240BHP Roller Skate!

Matt shifts the weight to the rear wheels with the loud pedal.

Unfortunately, I was unable to photograph Matt's great spin on the last run...so just print this out, hold it at arm's length, and spin really fast until you throw up.

Remarkably quiet, this RUF has a pretty impressive reserve of hustle.

S-Mod National Champion car! The no-wing look is great on this Supra Turbo.

A car is nothing without its driver, and I think Kent may have had more to do with the National Championship than the car.
